Parker HannifinParker Hannifin

Parker Hannifin (Parker) is one of the largest users worldwide of the Peoplesoft World software. Parker have co-developed, using the Agility Merlin product, a number of standard radio data terminal transactions and interfaces for the movement and processing of stock on Parker sites. These transactions have been designed to be flexible to cater for the varying demands on each site, whilst still posting data into a standard transaction in Peoplesoft World. These transactions are currently being rolled out to the Parker sites in the UK, mainland Europe, and are planned for Asia and South America.

DAMS International

Dams InternationalDams, a leading manufacturer of office furniture, has been operating a number of disparate computer systems to control the planning, progressing and delivery booking of its orders to its customers. Whilst the systems worked well, there were several differing user interfaces for each solution and Dams wanted to bring all of these systems into a single graphical user interface for each of use and to facilitate the flow of information between systems.

Andreas Stihl

Stihl Power ToolsAnderas Stihl has transformed the recording of stock movements in its Camberley based warehousing using radio data terminals to record stock put-aways, movements, picking and replenishment transactions real-time into System21 Warehousing without any clerical data entry.

Stock movement instructions are sent directly to each operator’s radio terminal telling them what stock to move and with requests to scan barcodes from the locations and products to ensure that the correct stock is moved to and from the correct location.

Arjo WigginsArjo Wiggins

Agility have recently installed iLink solutions into 4 Arjo Wiggins (Arjo) sites in England, Scotland and France. The solutions are based around using radio data terminals to process stock receipts, movements and shipments in the various warehouses and to provide specific stock labelling requirements for pallets.

Above and beyond the standard warehouse transactions of receipts, shipping and picking, Agility have provided Arjo with some unique capabilities and functions which have increased the levels of operational efficiencies for Arjo. These include:

  • Enhanced barcode decoding
  • Multi-lingual RDT screens (user configurable)
  • Pallet tracking
  • Pallet Building

Simon Jersey

Simon JerseyThe industry specific operational requirements of clothing based distributor Simon Jersey has meant that standard data capture transactions for System21 Warehousing have not proved operationally efficient. Therefore, Agility have worked with Simon Jersey to develop radio data terminal transactions which track the movement of garments in the warehouse, whilst feeding the base stock movement data into System21. An example is an industry specific put-a-way transaction that allows multiple garments to be moved together, whilst still feeding individual stock movements into System21, without any specific action by the user.

In picking and packing, Agility have provided Simon Jersey with a console based Pick and Pack check-out solution, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of garment picking. At each despatching bench the user has a graphical picking Console, which displays the details of the order he is working on. The console:

  • Allows the user to scan each garment issuing a barcode scanner
  • All scanned items are validated against the order
  • Optionally, items can be scanned into packing boxes and a box manifest label printed listing the contents of each box
  • When all items have been scanned, the Console will automatically confirm pick all items into System21 Warehousing
  • When all items have been picked the Order will be automatically Confirm Despatched into System21

UK NSIUK NSI

UK NSI approached Agility to provide them with an integrated barcoding and radio frequency data capture solution for the control of components and finished goods inventory. BSC had to interface with UK NSI’s ERP System, GEAC ystem 21, on their IBM AS/400 midrange computer. This was done using our Merlin Software.

BE AerospaceBE Aerospace

Agility Systems improved the efficiency of their purchasing system by supplying software to increase performance and efficiency and also the hardware necessary to perform the transactions required. BE Aerospace previously created purchase orders manually on their JD Edwards system which was time consuming as personnel were keying in data from a spreadsheet. The task set to Agility was to devise a system that would, as far as possible, automate the process. The solution was relatively simple but extremely effective as the manual procedures could take numerous days to create purchase orders for a particular buyer. This has now been reduced to about 3-5 minutes.
