Bacardi
Bacardi, faced with the new EU Food traceability regulations needed to install a quick and simple solution to allow them to record and track pallets of finished goods to end customers, and provide a database of deliveries to allow them to trace which pallets had been delivered to which customer in case a product re-call was required.
A solution was required to provide this functionality. However, Bacardi were not ready to put in place a full radio frequency scanning solution, but flexibility was required in that what ever solution was put in place could be upgraded to radio frequency in the future.
Agility put in place a batch scanning solution using Intermec CK30 terminals, which can operate in both batch and radio mode. Utilising the Agility pallet tracking database picking lists are downloaded into each CK30 and this instructs the pickers which pallet to pick and allows them to record the picking details. These details are then downloaded to the Agility Pallet database for traceability and reporting using Bacardi’s existing reporting tools.

G’s Marketing
G's Marketing a Cambridge based processor of salads and vegetables have Intermec based radio terminals to perform all stock transactions in their factories and warehouses removing PC based workstations. G’s Marketing presented Agility with a challenge in that, in line with introducing radio data capture, they wanted to introduce pallet control and the automatic assignment of pallet stock with the goods themselves. This was a straight forward problem for iLink as its task based logic means that multiple transactions and processes can be run from a single radio data terminal transaction. This has simplified operations for users, whilst automating many complex transactions into Peoplesoft and providing the operational data required promptly.
In addition, ILink has used the Lot number in Peoplesoft to mimic unique pallet numbering, for both stock and the pallets themselves.
Transactions, include:
- Goods Receipting and automated pallet label printing
- Pallet movement tracking
- Finished Goods Booking
- Order picking
- Load Building and Despatching
